Is there anything worse than being sick in the summer? It just doesn't seem right. Our littlest girl is down and out with the stomach flu. It has been more than 48 hours, so I took her to the doctor this morning. The doctor was not impressed. She said she is right on the line between being sick and being scary sick. That meant a blood draw and a urine test. Katie is so dehydrated that they had a hard time getting a blood sample. Why can't it just be the regular 24 hour mess and then move on. She always seems to get things so much worse. Her blood came back elevated in one area (sorry I can't remember the name) and she has blood in her urine. So they made appointments for her for the next three days. They want to see her daily till they see improvement. Also, she is one antibiotic. I wish the girl could sleep better. I hate hearing her moaning while she is sleeping. She is right next to my bed in what she calls a "nest". I can't put her in bed with me. Her fever makes us both hot and miserable.
She is quite the little trooper though and said it was the best doctor visit ever, all because she got two balloons after the nurse took her blood. I could tell she felt as bad as I did. Poor little thing cried and cried. Why do they have mamma's hold their babies when they hurt them. Don't they know we want to punch them and protect our little ones? It triggers something not rational, something truly primal in us, but instead we stay quiet to be strong for our kiddos. I better get a load of laundry running while she is resting. Laundry never rests it only multiplies when I am not looking. Keep you posted!
