Nana and Pops came with us to enjoy the game. I think this might have been Nana's first trip to a ball field. I heard Jason explaining the rules.

This is the view from our box seats.

We had outside seating.

And inside seating.

Not quite the nose bleed section from my childhood. Although this was a pretty small stadium. Not much of a nose bleed section to be honest.

One of the greatest areas was the playground way out past the outfield. The kids and I went over in the fourth inning and stayed till the beginning of the seventh. I made them go back and sing for the seventh inning stretch and then they were able to make it to the end.

The most popular part of the play area was not the equipment, but the grass hill. Nothing tops rolling down a steep grass hill. I think I might break something if I tried.
This is Katie letting me know that she is "big" and can do what ever Nate and Moya are up to. I think she forgets that she is a baby, or maybe I am forgetting how fast she has grown. Not going to think about that too much!
Treats for the kids. I'm glad Jason didn't tell me what these cost. After he revived me from the shock of the $9.00 slice of pizza and soda, he just went and found these. They were the bribe to keep all happy as we waited for the fireworks. I'm sorry I didn't get pictures. They were fabulous and my "real" camera even has a setting that lets you catch them. Just cell phone shots for this night. Camera left safely at home. Ok, ok I forgot it, but I got all the kids there!
After the game we went out to get a bite to eat. Just one week earlier Jason and I had gone downtown to see Fiddler on the Roof. Just a magical night. After the play we were walking back to the car and I commented on how many kids were out late at night. What crazy parents take kids out downtown late at night? What about bed time, rules, etc? Well, I guess kids of this parent cause here we are out to eat after 10. I loved the sign. Had to grab a shot. The time and the sugar from the earlier snack might explain some of the expressions.

I hope you don't mind, but I peeked at your blog too!! I am so so so jealous about the BBQ championships you went to. We watch it on TV EVERY year!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are alive and well in Memphis!
