Not So Bad

We made it through the first days of school. Sorry my last blog was so down. I was having a hard time letting go. That might be an understatement, but time to move on. Katie's first day of school was a couple of days after Nate & Moya. The girls in the kitchen ready for school. She couldn't wait to get in!

We helped her carry in her bags and bags of supplies.

Katie and her teacher. She gave us a bag of little bag full of Hershey kiss and a poem and told us to be on our way. OK, she was nice about it. But the meaning was the same. They had a little meeting in the library called "Cheers and Tears", for the parents of kindergarten students. But I don't like to cry in front of people so I headed out to the car, I might have taken down a few other students in my mad run to get to the car before I lost it. Jason was supportive and let me drive him home. Might not have been the safest choice. I had to work at the middle school for the PTA and then we went to lunch and a movie.

Katie had a great day. And we were happy and without the tears when we got her.

There are not as many pictures of Nate. He wouldn't let his teary eyed mom follow him around Junior High to document the first day of school. I made him let me get a shot it the kitchen before he left.


He was the first kid on the bus, so he let me take one more before he left. Thank goodness, because the lighting on the first was terrible.

Moya had a great first day. She is making new friends and has a remarkable teacher. She is not so embarrassed by me so I followed her in and got a few shots.

Three weeks in and all is well. Now I will up and abandon them again. This time for me and Jason to tour all over Europe for two weeks. We had to call in both sets of grandparents to pull of this wild adventure.
